Gretsch Country Gentleman Price Guide

The Gretsch Country Gentleman was introduced in 1957 as an endorsement model for Chet Atkins, featuring a thinline double-cutaway body with distinctive 'f-hole' inserts (actually painted on from 1958 onward) and a warm, sophisticated tone. George Harrison famously played a Country Gentleman with the Beatles, making it one of the most culturally significant guitars of the 1960s.

📖 Buyer's Guide

Pre-Baldwin models (pre-1967) are the most desirable. Look for original Filter'Tron pickups, Bigsby vibrato, and the muffler (string damper) mechanism. George Harrison association makes Beatles-era models especially collectible. The painted-on f-holes are correct — actual open holes indicate an early or modified example.
