What Changed in 1970

Late Baldwin-era Country Gentleman. The Brooklyn factory era is coming to a close. These instruments are functional but lack the refinement of pre-Baldwin examples. The Gretsch name still carries weight, but quality has declined.

Collector's Notes

Baldwin-era instruments are significantly less collectible. Good examples can be excellent player-grade instruments at affordable prices. Binding inspection is mandatory.
