What Changed in 1970

The D-35 continued with Indian rosewood (which it had always used, unlike the D-28's transition). Production growing. The three-piece back was now accepted as a legitimate design choice.

Collector's Notes

The D-35 never had a Brazilian rosewood period (with possible exception of earliest 1965 examples), so there is no pre/post rosewood transition price cliff. Values are based purely on age and condition.
