Fender Jazz Bass Price Guide

The Fender Jazz Bass, introduced in 1960, offered a narrower neck and dual-pickup configuration that distinguished it from the Precision. The original stack-knob control layout (1960-1961) gave way to a simplified 3-knob arrangement in 1962. Jazz Basses in custom colors — particularly those with original stack-knob pots — are among the most valuable vintage Fenders.

📖 Buyer's Guide

Stack-knob models (1960-1961) are the most collectible and command substantial premiums. Verify that the concentric pots haven't been converted to standard 3-knob configuration. Custom colors require authentication — look for the characteristic yellow sealer under the color coat. Block inlay and bound neck options on later models add value.
