Fender Mustang Price Guide

The Fender Mustang was introduced in 1964 as a student-oriented short-scale guitar with a simplified tremolo system. Competition stripe models from the late 1960s added visual flair. Kurt Cobain's preference for Mustangs brought significant attention to the model and drove collector interest in vintage examples.

📖 Buyer's Guide

Competition stripe finishes (red, blue, orange — late 1960s) command premiums. The original Mustang tremolo is commonly modified or replaced — verify originality. As a student model, many were heavily played; finding well-preserved examples with original finish and hardware is increasingly difficult.
